Services
Public health nurses assist the public and area providers by:

• Investigating and intervening for potential communicable disease outbreaks
• Assuring correct reporting of governmentally required reportable diseases

• Educating clients and providers regarding public health aspects of communicable diseases
• Evaluation and treatment of potential and confirmed tuberculosis
• Tuberculosis Skin Testing on Monday and Tuesday, skin testing readings on Thursday

Locations
Communicable Disease and Tuberculosis services are coordinated through the Cassopolis office for Cass County and the Hartford office for Van Buren County but can be provided at any of our 4 offices by appointment.

Schedule
Services are provided as the need arises, generally during business hours for non-emergent situations, and generally by appointment only.

To schedule an appointment or to talk to a public health nurse, call 269-621-3143 for Van Buren County or 269-445-5280 for Cass County.  

Financial
Many services are provided free although there is a fee for certain services.  Please ask the public health nurse or our receptionist regarding the charges for specific services.
