On average, Americans are eating out at least 4.3 times per week. The goal of the Van Buren Health on the Menu Program is to help restaurants offer healthy menu items, so health conscious patrons can find healthy choices when dinning out.

The Health on the Menu Program was developed and made possible by the Michigan Department of Community Health, the Michigan Public Health Institute and "Healthy Berrien 2000 Heart Disease/Stroke Task Force."  The Van Buren County Health Department is currently working with 6 restaurants to bring the program to Van Buren County.
